The Cycle of Guiron le Courtois, a complex of French prose novels composed roughly between 1235 and 1240, is one of the major texts of courtly literature that have remained unpublished. Copied over the centuries and beloved by many generations of readers, from the court of Frederick II to the aristocratic libraries of the Italian Renaissance in which it inspired Boiardo and Ariosto, the Cycle of Guiron le Courtois is published in its entirety for the first time by the 'Guiron Group' in a critical edition.
